Beijing Drainage Group (BDG) is a water utility delivering concession services for the central districts of Beijing in terms of drainage, wastewater and reclaimed water. 　　BDG enjoys distinctive service competence and expertise on holistic water environment management, thanks to its unique experience of delivering sewer-plant integrated services for Beijing - a modern international metropolis ranked No. 4th at “the first tier cities in the world” (a rating issued by the Globalisation and World Cities Research Network), and “Dual Olympic City”. It runs：- the world largest water reclamation system with an aggregate capacity of 5.07 million ton/day while the reuse quantity of reclaimed water resources ranks first in the world; - five sludge centers, largest scale in the world, for sludge stabilization and beneficial use; - and Huaifang Underground Water Reclamation Plant of leveraging cutting-edge technologies, the largest one in Asia, and the gold winner of Exceptional Project Execution and Delivery at the IWA Project Innovation Award 2018, known as “the Nobel Prize” in the water industry.Besides, BDG also operates 18,646 km of sewer and pipeline networks for stormwater and wastewater drainage and reclaimed water distribution, and takes the lead in the respect of drainage facilities O&M management in the country.

　　BDG has been championed the efforts to green and low-carbon operation across the whole process of its water pollution control practice.It already released a Carbon Neutrality Planning (2021 ~ 2050) & Implementation Plan, the first one among China’s wastewater sector. The plan sets out the details of its initiatives, including that BDG intends to adopt more energy-efficient and decarbonized technologies, such as: biogas recovery and use, photovoltaic generation, and wastewater heat pump system, etc., and widely apply in its water reclamation plants, all in a bid to contribute to China's commitments on the global climate governance goals under the Paris Agreement.

　　By now, it owns 517 patents with independent intellectual property rights, of which 95 are invention patents. A number of core technologies, e.g. the self-developed “ReNoCar” (anammox), “key technologies appropriate for upgrading WwTPs to improve effluent quality and performance efficiency”, and “integration technology for quality reclaimed water production” have reached world level, and thus with a complete and systematic technology integration and application system in place.

　　BDG has built up its competence and capability spanning the whole industrial value chain including design, R&D, construction, equipment manufacture, and assets O&M. It has successfully delivered a number of environmental projects with demonstration effects all over the country featuring China’s leading delivery speed, quality service and performance efficiency.  Its environmental equipment and products, independently designed and developed, have been installed in hundreds of municipal infrastructure projects around the world.Underpinned by these experience and strength, it is competent to provide holistic solutions on comprehensive water environmental improvement and menu-style services for global customers.
